The Research group for Sustainable Architecture is established in 2010, it’s a group of researchers whose main interest is sustainable architecture encompassing environmental and social aspects.
SARC is producing new research knowledge on environmental sustainable architecture and the design of Zero energy buildings and sustainable buildings in general. We have a holistic approach to design buildings and aim for integrated design processes (IDP) where technical, aesthetics and environmental parameters and well-being aspects are in play from the beginning of the design in order to design contemporary modern Nordic Architecture of high architectural quality.
SARC has in the past years established knowhow to fulfill the societal national and international climate goals for 2030 – 50 for the built environment.
SARC-researchers are addressing the relation between architecture, health and well-being, producing new knowledge on how to design optimal architectural environments for users in general and for specific vulnerable user-groups.
